I have secured a room for our first meeting.

It will be Thursday, October 22nd @ 5:30PM in the Newport News Room in the Webb Center. All members should be there if their schedule permits. Those of you who are interested in the club but are not yet members are encouraged to join us. We will be discussing a lot at this meeting so it would be helpful to have good attendance. You also get credit for showing up through Org Sync.

Thanks and hope to see you there!

Hello Brew Crew! Hope everyone is having a great Fall semester! We will be getting started with meetings here very soon so stay tuned. We have appointed new officers, re-registered the club, secured funding, and are about to order new t-shirts and glass ware. I hope everyone is excited to get to brewing and participating in the club. This will probably be the best year to be a part of the BBBC to date!

Hello Brew Crew! Sorry for the lack of anything lately, our current president Thom Bova has stepped down as president and I, Brae Hammersely will be stepping up to fill the position and get some things done. We have a pending request for the Webb center for a Spring Meeting on April 2nd @ 4pm!! Stay posted for further updates and confirmation. This meeting will be held as a regular meeting with the goal of determining the level of interest in the club, determining the current standing, planning events for this semester, planning for next year, and nominating/elect new people. We also have a couple brew days and and other events coming up in the next few months!

Received a very exciting email regarding a brewing science course being offered at ODU this "maymester"! Please read below for details...

Hi Brew Crew,

I'm not sure if you've heard about it yet but Dave Gauthier and I are teaching a Biology brewing science course this summer in the new Maymester summer session (Tues-Fri plus 2 saturdays the 2nd-4th week in May). We're going to cover a variety of topics as well as have some hands on practical brew sessions. Also, we're partnering with some of the local breweries for site visits and in-depth tours of their operations. If you're interested in the science or the industry of brewing, this class should be of lots of interest. Instructor approval is required (and you have to be 21+ by the start of the course). Please email Dave and I if you're interested with a short description of why and what you might hope to get from the course.
Cheers,
dan
