✨ Senior Spotlight: Kierstyn B. ✨

Kierstyn’s favorite memory from hygiene school was Senior Send Off at Afterglow Brewery. It gave everyone a chance to step away from lecture and clinic, relax together, and enjoy time with both classmates and faculty. From laughs to a few tears, it was a special bonding moment for all of us. 💙

After graduation, Kierstyn plans to take a much-needed break and time to herself to relax and recoup before starting her new job.

Her advice for current and future hygiene students: “RELAX!! Hygiene school is very competitive and difficult… It’ll make you mad and sometimes cry, but take a deep breath and take it as a learning opportunity and grow from it. Dwelling on the failed test or the many N’s in clinic won’t change anything. Take a deep breath and keep pushing through. It’ll all be worth it!”

Congratulations, Kierstyn! We’re so proud of all your hard work and can’t wait to see where your dental hygiene journey takes you 🎓✨

✨ Senior Spotlight: Sarah Chase 💯 ✨

Sarah’s favorite memories from hygiene school were the local anesthesia course during the summer and, most importantly, the true and genuine friendships she made along the way. Being from New Hampshire, her hygiene class became her family away from home, something she will forever cherish 🤍

After graduation, Sarah plans to work in Virginia Beach for at least a year and eventually complete her Master’s degree in dental hygiene so she can teach future hygienists 🦷📚

Her advice for current and future hygiene students: “Stay organized, lean on others, and don’t be afraid to ask for help. Also, do NOT compare yourself to other people in your class. Everyone has different patients with various periodontal disease statuses. And most importantly, believe in YOURSELF, and take time to do things for YOURSELF! YOU GOT THIS! ONE HUNDRED”

Congratulations, Sarah! Your passion for this profession and your classmates shines through in everything you do 🎓✨

✨ Senior Spotlight: Emma ✨

Emma’s favorite memory from hygiene school was getting through the stressful days together and becoming so close with the people around her. Between long clinic days, late night studying, and nonstop laughing in between, the friendships she made are something she’ll always be grateful for ❤️

After graduation, Emma plans to spend her days studying for the NBDHE and relaxing at the beach whenever she can ☀️🌊

Her advice for current and future hygiene students: “Believe in yourself and don’t forget to have fun! You will be challenged in ways you didn’t know were possible but I promise you will get through it.”

Congratulations, Emma! We are so proud of all you’ve accomplished 🎓✨

✨ Senior Spotlight: Makala ✨

Makala’s favorite memory from hygiene school was the Christmas party, where she got to make memories with her classmates and friends while eating, sharing laughs, and singing karaoke 🎄🎤

After graduation, Makala plans to begin her career as a dental hygienist at Spencer Dental 🦷

Her advice for current and future hygiene students: “School will be stressful, but it is important to still allocate free time into your schedule. A work life balance is very important. Focus on your studies, but also allow yourself some time to let your brain relax. You’ll need it!”

Congratulations, Makala! We’re excited to see all you accomplish in your career 🎓✨

✨ Senior Spotlight: Paige ✨

Paige’s favorite memories from hygiene school were early morning study sessions and lunch dates with her friends 💙

After graduation, Paige is moving to Richmond to begin her career at Commonwealth Dentistry while continuing to coach CrossFit 🦷🏋️

Her advice for current and future hygiene students: “Take it one day at a time, it will be over before you know it! Every early morning and late night will be worth it!”
