Meet Stanley Peter Anukwuocha! Stanley is a doctoral student in Public Administration and Policy at Old Dominion University’s School of Public Service, where he serves as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant. His research focuses on motivation and human resource management in public service. Specifically, understanding what drives public employees to remain committed and how HR analytics and engagement strategies can make public service more attractive and effective in serving residents.
Before joining ODU, Stanley earned his Master of Public Administration with specialization in Nonprofit Management from Northern Illinois University, graduating Summa Cum Laude. At NIU, he worked as an Administrative Specialist at the Center for Nonprofit Excellence and a Graduate Research Assistant in the Department of Public Administration. He also worked as a Management Intern at the Village of Wilmette, Illinois, where his work contributed to local government projects on workforce challenges, diversity, and policy improvement. Stanley also holds a first-class degree in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management from Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Nigeria.
Beyond academia, Stanley is the Founder of Education African Scholars Global Connect (https://eduafrikscholars.com/), a nonprofit organization that supports African youths in securing international scholarships and educational opportunities in Western countries like U.S., Canada, Australia, U.K, etc. His professional and leadership contributions have earned him multiple honors and awards, including the 2023 National Forum for Black Public Administrators (NFBPA) Scholarship, Northern Illinois University Graduate Leadership Award, and the James M. & Audrey M. Banovetz Fellowship.
