Are you a current History Ed junior who is planning to student teach next year? You MUST attend one resume workshop to learn how to write and edit your student teaching resume!

Students - you are encouraged to attend a resume workshop EARLY and before your upcoming student teaching interview! Please bring a charged computer.

The research is impressive, varied, and detailed, and each student did an incredible job presenting their work at the annual symposium last April.

History Education alum - check out another awesome opportunity to engage in PD with teachers around the state while writing inquiry-minded lesson plans. The Illinois State Historical Society is creating a cohort of K-12 teachers to craft inquiry-based lesson plans about Illinois history using both primary and secondary sources!

The perks? All sessions will be completed virtually. Your work will be published as part of a statewide resource for Illinois teachers. Plus, there’s a $450 stipend for participating educators!

Hey, History Ed alumni!! Are you a current 6th-12th grade classroom teacher? The Obama Presidential Center is hosting a professional development event for YOU!!

On Friday, October 2nd, join other Social Studies educators from across the state of Illinois as you explore the Obama Presidential Museum to deepen your understanding of inquiry-based collaborative learning. Participants will leave with many practical strategies for integrating Obama Presidential Center resources into daily lessons, as well as fresh pedagogical approaches to foster civic inquiry in 6-12 classrooms.

📢 Calling all ISU History Education majors! 📢

Please plan to attend a mandatory History Education meeting on Tuesday, September 1st at 6:00 pm in Schroeder 130. This meeting is required for ALL freshmen, sophomore, and junior History Education majors. The meeting will last approximately one hour.

If you are a senior History Education major who is NOT student teaching next semester, you must attend. If you are unsure if you should attend this meeting, please contact your academic advisor or send an email to [email protected].
