The Skate Park Saturdays event series will be extended through September, and we’re proud to support this initiative that brings the community together through skateboarding, art, and wellness.

This Saturday, June 6, the program will host youth from Art from the Heart in Decatur. Participants will be able to engage with No Board Left Behind, an organization that makes skating more accessible by repairing and providing new gear to community members. Picnic food will be featured, thanks to donated labor from a local chef.

Bloomington–Normal: get ready to roll! 🛹✨

Illinois Humanities’ Envisioning Justice Bloomington-Normal Hub is launching Skate Park Saturdays starting March 7 at Fairview Skate Park in Normal, in collaboration with Crib to Crib Skateboarding Co.

Since 2017, Envisioning Justice has used the arts and humanities to spark conversations about mass incarceration and imagine more just futures. Skate Park Saturdays builds on that work by celebrating skate culture as community, creativity, and wellness.

We are of our Graduate Assistant Caitlin Bradford for being awarded the Paul Simon Democracy Prize!

The Paul Simon Public Policy Institute is proud to announce the recipients of the 2026 Paul Simon Democracy Prize! 🎉

This year, four Illinois college students were awarded $5,000 each to support innovative projects designed to strengthen civic engagement and revitalize democracy in their communities.

We are incredibly grateful to the students from the ISU Center for Civic Engagement who volunteered their time and energy to scrub and clean the Safe Harbor shelter during the “Bring It Back to Normal” event.
