We are excited to share that we are hosting the first‑ever Qiskit Fall Fest at the University of Oklahoma. This event is made possible with training and resources provided by IBM, and we’re opening the doors to everyone in the OU community and the greater Norman area. Beginning October 7, we will launch a series of quantum computing events—talks, workshops, and hands‑on coding sessions with Qiskit. Whether you’re a student, faculty member, researcher, alumnus, or a curious neighbor, you’re warmly invited to learn, explore, and build with us.

And yes — pizza and soda for all participants.

Sooner Magazine article by Sara Cowan from the OU Foundation featured our famous faculty member Nathan A. Court, who was a professor in our department from 1913 to 1951. One of the scholarships that our department awards to undergraduate Math majors was endowed by Professor Court’s family and has his name.

The Sooner Magazine article also talks about our undergraduate student Colin Hieronimus who won the Nathan A. Court Award in 2025 together with John Shumate, and the Math Center Outstanding Tutor award this spring together with Olivia White.

An OU scholarship honoring international math legend Nathan Altshiller Court supports motivated minds.
