The University of Oklahoma's Flying Sooners Flight Team

The Flying Sooners Flight Team is comprised of pilots seeking an undergraduate degree in Aviation from The University of Oklahoma.

Each year, team members travel to compete against other collegiate aviation programs in ground and flight competitions.

Unfortunately our plane wash fundraiser that we had scheduled for tomorrow will have to be postponed. We were expecting numerous aircraft from Northern Oklahoma and Texas, and weather conditions forecasted for tomorrow will limit the number of attendees who could make it to Norman. Keep your eyes open for our rescheduled date!

Thank you for your support and we hope to see everyone at a sunny (and warmer) plane wash soon.

BIG NEWS: After the most successful fundraising and donation year in the recent history of the team, we are excited to announce that our 1977 Cessna 152 Aerobat N7562B, callsign “Crimson 75” is getting some well-deserved upgrades.

The team is looking forward to representing the University of Oklahoma in Salina, Kansas next week at the National Intercollegiate Flying Association's combined Region VI and Region VII SAFECON Competition. The Flying Sooners are excited to announce the start of our summer fundraising campaign. We're partnering with the University of Oklahoma's development team to raise funds through the Thousands Strong platform.

All funds raised will support the team as we prepare for our upcoming fall competitions by covering things like fuel and uniform costs, and the cost of transportation and lodging during competition week.

ATTENTION AIRCRAFT OWNERS AND PILOTS - PLANE WASH:

The Flying Sooners Flight Team will be hosting a plane wash on Sunday, February 25 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm on the south ramp of Max Westheimer Airport in Norman (KOUN).

All donations received during the plane wash will directly benefit the Flying Sooners as we prepare to represent the University of Oklahoma in the 2018-2019 academic year.

The Flying Sooners could not compete at the level that we do without the tremendous support of our team sponsors. Each year, sponsorships aid in covering the cost of flight practices, fuel costs, team uniforms, meals, lodging and transportation while at competition, and other competition related expenses. As we prepare to compete in the 2018 National Intercollegiate Flying Association’s Region IV SAFECON event, we are excited to announce the start of our annual sponsorship drive.

This year, we are excited to have the opportunity to offer our sponsors complimentary tickets to attend the Department of Aviation's annual aviation banquet on the campus of the University of Oklahoma, Thursday, April 12, 2018.

The keynote speaker at this event will be Mr. Robert Isom, President of American Airlines and the American Airlines Group.
