This last weekend our team got the pleasure of competing in Baja SAE’s 2026 Oregon competition with car number 174, Teddy.

Competition was a very important milestone for our team and would not have been possible without all the students, faculty, and sponsors who contributed to our success!

This car carries more than the time it took to put it together, it carries the memory of Theo May, who we lost in 2023.

This year would have been his senior year. Though he won’t walk the stage beside us, he rides with us in every mile, in every turn, in every moment this car comes to life.

Theo’s passion for this team spread like wildfire, igniting something in all of us that will never fade. He was never just a teammate, he was a friend, a brother, a son, and a light within this team.

We named this car “Teddy” in his honor, and it is our greatest privilege to place it in the hands of his parents one day. Their unwavering support the last few years has helped carry us forward, just as Theo always did.

Fly high, Theo. You are forever part of Sooner Off-Road, and you will always be loved.
