Music Education at OU This is the official page of the Department of Music Education at the University of Oklahoma.

The University of Oklahoma has been at the forefront of music teacher preparation for several decades. Through active experiences, on-site participation in excellent public school programs, and classes with nationally recognized faculty, students in the music education program enjoy a vibrant and comprehensive curriculum. Combining a practical approach to developing musicianship and teaching skills along with strong research activities and foundations, OU helps prepare music educators to be leaders in the field. Our graduates are recognized as highly successful music teachers and researchers.

We had our first “Masterclass Monday” today!

This new partnership with the Music Education Department at the OU School of Music allows MUED students opportunities to teach smaller groups to practice strategies and techniques for teaching music! Our IMS students then gain invaluable knowledge and get better at their instruments - a win/win for all involved!

We were glad to have OU Senior, Isaiah Crawford, out today to work some low brass magic with our 7th and 8th Grade low brass sections!
