June 19th has become a nationally recognized holiday in the United States celebrating the commemoration of the ending of slavery. The work does not end there. We encourage folks to learn black history; wear black, red and green; uplift black voices; read black authors; listen to black artists; and show black owned businesses to show support. May we work together to honor Black Americans and their legacies through education, advocacy, and action.

Join us and partners across campus in supporting survivors, spreading awareness and education around sexual violence, and challenging r**e culture. Denim Day, April 27th, is a national day of action, and an awareness event in which people are encouraged to wear denim to combat victim blaming and educate others about sexual violence. This day stems from a high profile Italian r**e trial where the survivor was blamed for her r**e because of the type of jeans she was wearing. It was ruled that because they were “tight”, she had to have helped him remove them, therefor “making it consensual”. As an immediate protest to the matter, women in the Italian Parliament wore jeans to work. Please join us in symbolizing protest against destructive attitudes and myths revolving around sexual assault. To learn more please visit: https://www.denimdayinfo.org/
