President Ronald Reagan stated (1987), Today, Memorial Day, we remember. We thank God for the courage, sacrifice, and love of those who gave their lives so that we might live ours. “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” (John 15:13)

During National Police Week we remember the sacrifice behind the badge. Law enforcement officers miss holidays, family time, and special moments while serving and protecting others. Some made the ultimate sacrifice so we could live safely.

As President John F. Kennedy once said, “Anyone can hold the helm when the sea is calm.” Today we honor those who continue to stand strong during life’s storms. Pray for the families who have lost a loved one. Thank you to all who serve and protect. 🇺🇸💙

Another exciting night at Charleston Southern University. We are so proud of all the graduates, especially our undergraduate Criminal Justice students. Watching each of you walk across the stage tonight was truly special. Your hard work, sacrifice, dedication, and determination have paid off, and your future is bright. Many of you will go on to serve and protect communities across America, and we could not be more proud of you.

A night to remember for the Charleston Southern University Graduate Criminal Justice Program. Each of these students balanced life, family, work, and school to earn their master’s degree. One graduate was even sworn into the United States Air Force 🇺🇸 during this special season of accomplishment and service. We are so proud of each of them and their outstanding achievements. May your lives continue to be blessed with success, happiness, and many future accomplishments. Congratulations!!!

Congratulations to Mrs. Jan Reed on being named the Charleston Southern University E.P.I.C. Employee of the Year for 2026!

This is such a well-deserved honor for someone who works tirelessly each day to help students, faculty, and everyone around her. Mrs. Jan is always willing to lend a helping hand, stay late, and go above and beyond with a caring heart and positive spirit.

CSU Criminal Justice Professor Dr. Gary Metts, as a member and board representative of the South Carolina FBI National Academy Association, was honored to be invited alongside a group of active and retired law enforcement officers to attend a special dinner at the Governor’s Mansion with Henry McMaster.

It was a memorable evening filled with fellowship, appreciation, and meaningful conversation. Governor McMaster expressed his sincere gratitude for the service and sacrifices made by law enforcement professionals across the state. It was truly a special night for all in attendance.
