Welcome to the 142 incoming 1Ls who joined the Quinnipiac Law family for Orientation last week!
Over two days, our 1Ls connected with faculty, staff, classmates and student mentors, marking their first steps into the legal profession. The program culminated with the Professional Oath Ceremony, administered by the Honorable Seán P. McGuinness ’06, JD ’09, who also serves as an adjunct law professor.
Our incoming class joins Quinnipiac Law following our most competitive admissions cycle in more than 15 years. Following a 37% surge in applicants last year, applications grew by an additional 9% this year. We received applications from 45 states and 16 countries. Arriving from 82 different undergraduate institutions, the class includes speakers of languages and dialects from 18 countries, 24% students of color, 22% identifying as LGBTQIA+, and 22% first-generation college students.
SBA President Mia Adduci ’27 encouraged the 1Ls to embrace the community around them: “You need to enter this stage of your education willing to let it change you ... invest in yourself — and with that, let the people in this community invest in you.”
We’re excited to see how this class will learn, grow and shape the Quinnipiac Law community over the next few years. Welcome to Quinnipiac Law!
