At the Florida Keys and Ten Thousand Islands Hope Spot, including Biscayne Bay, we are working to better understand, restore, and protect the ecosystems that make South Florida so extraordinary. From coral reefs and seagrass meadows to mangroves and coastal waters, these habitats support incredible biodiversity and connect our communities to the ocean.

Throwback to when FIU scientists .jpg & were in the field off the coast of West Palm Beach, Florida, conducting shark research and outreach in collaboration with the ANGARI Foundation.

Led by shark scientist the team tagged and released three nurse sharks and spotted a great hammerhead during the expedition. 🦈
