20 years of providing support, safety, and guidance to our LGBTQIA+ students as they discover who they are. Congratulations!

The LGBTQA Mentorship Program provides an opportunity for LGBTQIA+ students to be matched to and meet confidentially with an LGBTQIA+ faculty or staff member to work toward a goal throughout the year. The Pride Mentorship program also provides spaces for student peers to meet and network with each other.

June is Pride Month, and this year, a program that has guided hundreds of Panthers on their journey to a college degree celebrates 20 years at FIU: the LGBTQA Mentorship Program.

SHARK WEEK is around the corner! FIU shark scientists will appear in three original shows and three new series episodes of National Geographic’s SharkFest 2022. They will go in search of giant great hammerhead sharks, investigate why sharks are attacking boats, explore battles between crocodiles and sharks, and more.

It is always a pleasure and an honor for our office to attend the Aventura Marketing Council Breakfast Meetings.

This morning, "Meet the Mayors" Breakfast meeting, was no different.

Aventura Mayor Enid Weisman, Biscayne Park Mayor Virginia O'Halpin, El Portal Mayor Omarr Nickerson, Hallandale Beach Mayor Joy Cooper, Miami Shores Mayor Sandra Harris, Sunny Isles Mayor Dana Goldman and Surfside Mayor Shlomo Danzinger joined Senator Lauren Book and Senator Jason Pizzo for an inspiring meeting with community members.

FIU is proud to be collaborating with many of the Mayors and their communities on issues such as environmental resilience, infrastructure, senior citizens welfare, start-ups and so on. Congratulations to Journalism + Media alumnus Arthur Guisasola!

Journalism + Media alumnus Arthur Guisasola ’16 was recently selected as one of the 2022 Forbes Europe 30 under 30 for Sports & Games. In 2019 Guisasola joined TikTok as a Strategic Partner Lead, responsible for overseeing the company's relationships with over 300 sports organizations across the UK and Europe. He also onboarded all 20 Spanish LaLiga clubs, making it the first European market to have its entire first division on TikTok. On behalf of the FIU Panther family, congratulations on this incredible accomplishment 🐾
