“GO AFTER SOULS!”
I saw that line in an advertisement for an Independent Fundamental Baptist college. Amen! Go after souls. Preach the Gospel. Knock doors. Run buses. See people saved.
Then what?
Who teaches that new convert to read his Bible, obey it, pray, and stay faithful? Who shows him how to win someone else and help that person grow?
A college can teach a young man to give a Gospel presentation in a few minutes. Training him to apply the Bible, love difficult people, lead his family, and serve faithfully for years takes more.
And if a college student will not grow in those areas himself, how can we expect him to be an effective servant of Christ when others are depending on him?
That is what we do at Great Plains Baptist College.
We are a college in a hard place. North Platte is a small town with few places to hang out, no malls, one movie theater, and very few restaurant choices. If you come here for the excitement, you took a wrong turn! You had better know God wants you in this part of the country.
It is a good place to face a question every future pastor and missionary must answer:
Will I serve God faithfully where He puts me, even when I would rather be somewhere else?
We want our students to learn to win a convert, help that convert grow, and teach that convert to do the same. We want them to learn to apply the Bible before they teach it to others.
Learn to love the unlovable.
Learn to build where the work is hard.
Learn to live faithfully for a lifetime.
Learn to stay when everything else says go!
Yes, go after souls! Then stay and help them grow.
Whether you are finishing high-school or are someone praying about Bible College, we hope you will prayerfully consider GPBC.
