Our school was established in 1934 from the highly regarded St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing. Today, we continue to fulfill our mission to prepare baccalaureate, master’s and doctorate graduates as successful professional nurse leaders and difference makers. The Simulated Health Center team is looking for eager students willing to take on a variety of duties. This role would include support of Simulated Health Center staff, faculty and administration, and perform general simulation and laboratory duties including monitoring audio and visual equipment, scene setup and takedown, and supply upkeep and maintenance.

Eligibility: Must have completed NRS 206.

Our alum, Chad is so proud to share that he recently returned from deployment, where he served as the sole critical care nurse with the Special Operations Surgical Team (SOST).

SOST is an elite, highly specialized Air Force medical team designed to deploy into austere and high-risk environments, bringing advanced trauma surgery, emergency medicine, and critical care capabilities closer to the point of injury. Serving in this role meant being responsible for the critical care and resuscitation of some of our most severely injured patients in an environment where resources, personnel, and time can be extremely limited.

The clinical foundation, leadership, and commitment to service instilled in Chad at UP SONHI helped prepare him for one of the most demanding and meaningful assignments of my career. Go Pilots! ⚓️💜

3rd Annual Faculty workshop to Advance Palliative Care Education.

UP SONHI hosted 95 faculty from across the country and Canada and Thailand (first time international attendees). 2 days of exploring ways to reconsider where and how to integrate palliative care into curriculum, classroom teaching strategies, clinical and simulation application.

We had many interactive experiential labs, opportunities to relax the mind during sessions with rock art, coloring, and writing notes to their future self - our students!
