Let’s normalize mental health and self care. Not all injuries are visible, but that doesn’t mean you can’t seek professional help to overcome them. Therapy is hard, but not getting your life back is harder. It’s OK to not be OK. I go to therapy, it’s not always fun (OK rarely so), but I’m invested in my future wellbeing. It’s hard to be vulnerable, but it’s even harder to suffer in silence. xx

Today started out well. But by the end of the day it was overwhelming. I could feel myself holding the tension in my lower back, subconsciously grinding my teeth. Feeling very dysregulated. Sometimes we avoid situations because they are too taxing, other times we get through them and pay the price. Today wasn’t bad by any means, it was just ‘too much’ for my nervous system. Like standing on a tennis court and having balls thrown at you from every direction. It’s time to breathe. Ground and relax. So I can unwind enough to get some sleep. Some days are harder than others. Be kind to yourself. 🫶🏻
