When Rylie Seaberg ’26 hit a wall analyzing thousands of genetic sequences for her honors thesis, she didn't just find a workaround—she helped build the solution.

Alongside Assistant Professor of Biology Andrew Davinack, Rylie co-created pygenoscape, a new open-source Python tool that transforms complex DNA data into interactive 3D landscapes. Now, researchers worldwide can easily visualize how rivers, mountains, and geographic distances shape genetic diversity in species, from parasites to Yellowstone gray wolves.

Their research was recently published in Bioinformatics Advances! Read how this professor-student team is making big moves in scientific software: https://wheatoncollege.edu/news/blazing-new-paths-in-scientific-software/

Great news from campus! Wheaton College has once again been named one of the nation’s top colleges by The Princeton Review! 🎉

Ranking among the top 14% of four-year schools in the country, this recognition comes straight from our students. Survey responses celebrated our "gorgeous" campus in Norton, MA, along with our small class sizes and highly accessible faculty (93/99 rating!), where professors serve as genuine mentors both inside and outside the classroom.

Students also celebrated the career support at Wheaton, specifically how the Life and Career Design Institute guarantees that every student has the opportunity to access up to $3,000 for an unpaid internship, helping turn career ambitions into real experience.

Have you ever noticed the tiny offerings left at the H**e statue?

One of Wheaton College's oldest traditions is still going strong. Installed in 1884, the H**e statue has long been a symbol of campus life, and generations of students have left small tokens in hopes of a little extra good luck.

From coins and flowers to handwritten notes and other thoughtful keepsakes, each offering is a small reminder of the connections that make Wheaton's community so special.
