Alumni Journeys with Katherine L Garcia '11

Alumni Journeys is a monthly virtual series connecting Falcons together by giving alumni and students the opportunity to meet industry professionals, ask questions, and expand their personal and professional networks.

Meet and chat with alumna Katherine L. Garcia, on Wednesday, March 9 at 6 pm on Zoom.

Katherine is a former ASCC Student Senator, Environmental Club President, and Faculty Senate Liaison of Cerritos College.

She earned her Liberal Arts degree from Cerritos College and transferred to the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she earned her Bachelor's in Cultural Anthropology. In December 2021, she earned her MBA from California State University, Los Angeles.

Today, Katherine is the Director of Marketing Operations at Web Marketing Therapy, an agency specializing in marketing support and optimization. She helps businesses nationwide with their digital marketing. She is also a Board Member at Orange County Coastkeeper, an organization dedicated to protecting our waters.

"I've been to many colleges throughout my educational journey, but nothing compares to Cerritos College. That school changed my life in ways I will forever be thankful for."

Katherine will be sharing her journey from Cerritos College student to her career in marketing with alumnus, journalist, and Alumni Journeys host Parimal Rohit '95.

Apply by March 1, 2022, for Spring 2022 scholarships available through the Cerritos College Foundation. The Foundation has more than $100,000 available for scholarship awards this Spring. Scholarships range from $250 to more than $2,000. To apply, students need to complete an online application form which requires a 400-600 word personal statement and answer a series of questions used to determine which scholarships "match" each student's background, career goals, and other criteria.

2022 Student Commencement Speaker - Call for Applicants!

Graduating Falcons from 2020 - 2022 are invited to apply to be the 2022 Student Commencement Speaker!

The Student Speaker will sit on stage during the ceremony, provide a 5-minute graduation speech to their fellow grads, and be highlighted in the program booklet. There will be one speaker per Commencement Ceremony: Friday, May 20, and Saturday, May 21.

To submit an application, complete this online form by March 11, and submit a 3-minute audition video by March 25 (video submission instructions provided to those who apply).

Falcons who uploaded proof of full vaccination by 12/15/21 may pick up their $125 bookstore gift card between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., Mon-Fri! Tables are located in front of Student Health Services, just east of the gymnasium. Be sure to bring your photo ID!
