“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘what are you doing for others?’” -Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

On this Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we reflect on this question and the teaching of Social Justice as outlined by the other CCC—the Catechism of the Catholic Church. We are called to curb and eradicate every form of unjust discrimination against our brothers and sisters. We are called to reduce the sinful inequalities—every single one of them—that persist even in the present day. And, in doing so, we are called to cultivate and use our God-given talents to care for one another with a profound sense of fraternal love.

The CCC wishes you the best of luck with the rest of your final exams. Finish strong!

Meet Maddie Tupy, our Social Service Division Chair!

“My name is Maddie Tupy and I am excited to be serving as the Social Service Division Chair this year! I am a junior in Ryan Hall studying Business Technology, and I am from Pasadena, CA. On campus, I am involved in the Habitat for Humanity Club, The California Club, and I am an Investigator for the St. Joseph County Cyber Crimes Unit. Fun fact: I actually drink the slushees in SDH (rip slushee machine this year).

I am looking forward to helping Social Service clubs stay engaged this year despite these ✨uncertain times✨”

Meet David Kim, the Chair of our Cultural Division!

“Hello all! My name’s David Kim and I’m your Cultural Chair for this academic year. I’m a senior in Keenan Hall, a SCPP major, and I have loved attending cultural events on campus (KSA’s Seoul’d Out, Hawaii Club’s Luau, TSA’s Night Market, and AAA’s Asian Allure to name just a few). It’s always a pleasure to meet with so many different cultural clubs and despite this year’s difficulties, it’s very encouraging to see clubs still reaching out to their members and promoting their culture in a socially-distant university-approved way.
Feel free to say hi if you see me on campus! 👋”

Meet Hailey Maggelet, our Secretary!

“Hi all! I’m Hailey, the CCC Secretary! I’m a Junior from Salt Lake City, Utah. I am now off-campus, though I used to reside in Howard Hall. I am majoring in Political Science with minors in Real Estate and Business Economics. I love talking to new and prospective club leaders and members about their passions and the positive initiatives of their clubs. I am so excited to facilitate a positive experience in your extracurriculars this year!”

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.

He makes me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside still waters;
He restores my soul.
He leads me in right paths
for his name’s sake.

Even though I walk through the darkest valley,
I fear no evil;
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff—
they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord
my whole life long.

Meet Susan, our 2020-2021 Special Interest Division Chair!

“Hello there! My name is Susan Peters, and I am Chair of the Special Interest Division of the CCC! I am a senior in Ryan majoring in International Economics and Chinese. The special interest club of which I’m part is Notre Dame Mock Trial and I have the honor of serving them as Treasurer. Outside of Mock Trial, I like to stay involved in my dorm community, as I served as President last year and a welcome week committee member this year! I enjoy building community and advising clubs through the CCC, and I am greatly looking forward to the rest of the year!”
