Dear Students, Faculty and Staff:

Due to a revised Alameda County Health Department Order (10-14c), Lincoln University is unable to continue our plan to have in-person instruction in our campus buildings right now. This is due to the health department’s evaluation of current COVID-19 data in Alameda county. The health department will allow in-person instruction in the near future when they determine it is safe.
All in-person classes for the Fall 2020 semester that begins this Monday, August 24, 2020 will now be online. Monday will be confusing with this transition, but we will try to make this transition for everyone as easy as possible. In-person classes scheduled for this upcoming week should be flexible so both instructors and students can adjust to this change. Students and instructors should contact the computer lab as soon as possible if they have communication or technical problems so our lab technicians can help.
It is unfortunate for our Lincoln community to experience this COVID-19 environment, but be assured I continue to be committed along with our staff to provide you with the best quality education that Lincoln can deliver while keeping our 100 years distinguished feature of personal attention to every student.

GRADUATION PHOTOS UPDATE

Dear Lincoln University Graduates,

Due to the COVID-19 epidemic and Alameda County shelter in place order, we had to reschedule our normal Graduation Ceremony from May 2020 to December 13th, 2020, which will include graduation photos. If you were not going to be able to attend in December, we planned an alternative photo day in May, but the shelter order was extended to June and we had to reschedule. We are currently expecting to be able to organize the photo session in July, provided the situation changes. Please check your e-mail and the LU “news” tab on the website for updates.
We are hoping that you can make it for our in-person commencement ceremony in December this year. Meanwhile, once the photos are taken, we would like to offer you an opportunity to have your photos posted on Lincoln website along with congratulation messages from the University.
This may be a good way for you to share this important event in your life with your family and loved ones in the situation, while we wait for the in-person commencement ceremony.

Please reply to us at [email protected] if you would like your graduation photos to be posted on Lincoln website.

Thank you.

Best regards,
Dr. Micheal Guerra, Administrative Vice President

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)

Dear Lincoln Students,

Please see the link from CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) containing the important information and advice regarding the Coronavirus.

https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nCoV/index.html

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a virus (more specifically, a coronavirus) identified as the cause of an outbreak of respiratory illness first detected in Wuhan, China.

Dear Lincoln University students, faculty, and staff:

I want to update you on some operational changes we are making in response to the COVID-19 coronavirus situation.

At this time, no confirmed cases exist on campus. However, COVID-19 and its effects are in the forefront of our lives, dominating the news throughout the world. The more we can do today to reduce the infection rate, the better off our community and world will be in the long run. The State of California and leadership of the Bay Area proposed extremely tough measures for our operations. We have to follow them and totally change our operations.
After much thought and consideration, we have decided to switch to online teaching mode until the situation is normalized and probably for the rest of the Spring 2020 semester. These are the steps we are taking to ensure the safety of your health:
• All non-lab classes with 10 or less students will be switched to independent/special study format. That means that students will receive reading assignments by email and communicate with their instructors by email. The instructors may decide to teach these classes online as below and should inform students. The list of the classes will follow.
• All other non-lab classes will be taught online starting Monday, March 23rd using an online platform. The specific platforms (Google Hangouts, Canvas, or similar) and explanations on how to use them will be provided later. Lincoln Computer Lab staff and the Assistant Provost will help in case of technical difficulties.
• The DI classes that are requiring 1-unit lab (DI 120, DI 124, DI 125, DI 150 and DI 231) will have two lectures per week online (instead of lab they will have extra lecture). There are about 4 lab sessions left for those classes. When we reopen the school, they will have the lab meetings on an intensive schedule. Since lecture material will be covered, they can use the time completely for the lab.
• The DI 170 and DI 241 courses are lab only classes. These two will be reopening when permitted and extended hours will be provided or moved completely to the break time.
• The semester is currently extended through Monday, May 18th and may be extended more if necessary.
• The annual commencement ceremony has been postponed to December 2020, after the end of the Fall semester.

Thank you for your attention. We will update you on any changes in the situation.

Sharing our alumni thought.

" I finished my B.Eng, from Saint Cloud State University, in Electrical Engineering and decided to expand my horizon by joining Lincoln University MBA. Thanks to the knowledge and skills LU prepared me for. I apply what I learned to my every day as a Trade Officer in the Department of International Trade Promotion in Minister of Commerce. I often represent Thailand on the international scale. I’m so proud that I can make a difference in our community and make a great impact on so many lives.

I would definitely recommend Lincoln University to everyone, even though you do not have any business background. It is much more than an educational experience.
It is a phenomenal leadership training, personal growth and professional development experience as well.

Hi guys. I’m an international student in Diagnostic Imaging program with concentration in Sonography. I’m going to get BS not a certificate. I’m enjoy studying here. Most of our teachers are teachers and very welcome to share experience with students. We can practice scanning in lab during regular classes and our free time. It’s a good opportunity to build our scanning skills. The ambiance is very friendly. We can ask as many questions as we want and always get explanations. Guys, I strongly recommend you to get education in Lincoln University.
