Happy September! We at the Economics Department are thrilled to welcome you back to Oberlin. As you check out our courses for the year, you might notice there are some new names on our faculty roster. We're delighted to welcome three new faculty members this year:

- Sharbani Bhattacharjee, Visiting Assistant Professor, will teach courses in principles of economics, international trade and development economics.

- Evgeniya Moskaleva, Visiting Assistant Professor, will teach courses in principles of economics and the economics of migration.

- Udara Peiris, Visiting Associate Professor, will teach courses in principles of economics and finance.

You may also notice some departures:

- Professor Barbara Craig, our expert on international trade, has retired. Enjoy your well-earned retirement, Barbara!

- Professor Chris Cotter, our expert on finance and economic history, has moved on. Good luck in your future endeavors, Chris!

- Terri Pleska, our beloved administrative assistant, has also retired. Terri, thank you for making our department such a welcoming, friendly and functional place for all these years!

The faculty would like to invite you to meet the new faces and reconnect with your professors and classmates at our ECONOMICS FALL SOCIAL. Please mark your calendars for 4:30 - 6:30 pm at the Knowlton Athletic Complex Social Room, Thursday, September 15, 2022.

We'll serve up Turkish food from Istanbul Grill, drinks and sweets, and introduce our new faces. All economics majors and students interested in economics are welcome, so bring along your undeclared and first-year friends. We hope to see you there!
