The Walker Institute at Weber State University The Olene S. The Walker Institute provides programs which develop student leadership opportunities and promote interest in public service.

Walker Institute of Politics & Public Service at Weber State University cultivates civic dispositions within the student population and the community through programming opportunities for K-12, college students, and community members. It is our vision to bring a better understanding of the political process to the community and assist in training future leaders to become involved in public service.

📢 NOW HIRING: LEGISLATIVE AFFAIRS COMMITTEE INTERN

The Ogden Weber Chamber’s Legislative Affairs Committee intern will work directly with the Chair and Vice Chair to coordinate policy advocacy efforts.

Day-to-day tasks include
• Bill tracking and analysis
• Assisting with meeting coordination
• Gathering and disbursing committee feedback on legislative impacts

This is an unpaid position, however, interns will receive Chamber membership benefits throughout their internship, including:
• Networking events
• Economic Forecast event
• Business Forum
• Contacts group
• Chamber member discounts
• And more

After gaining valuable experience through his internship with America’s Credit Unions, Porter Lee was selected as a recipient of the inaugural Orrin G. Hatch Foundation Intern Scholarship and is now interning in Washington, D.C. with Senator Mike Lee’s Office.

We’re proud to see Porter put his classroom learning and internship experience into action, and we’re excited to follow along as he begins this new chapter!

All majors are encouraged to apply.
The Olene S. Walker Institute covers travel, housing, and Study Abroad fees.
Applications are submitted to all offices by default to maximize your chances of selection. Please notify the coordinator if you prefer to opt out of specific offices.

Applications are open for internships at the Utah State Legislature 🏛️

All majors are welcome to apply!

Pay: $4,250 stipend + a scholarship available to those who qualify
Time expectation: Full-time during the State Legislative session (approx. early January to early March)
Credits: We provide 12 credits for an internship class (so that you can keep scholarships/FAFSA you currently qualify for)
