Kjar spent the last nine years coaching Corner Canyon High School football, holding a record of 112-10 in that time. This included six state championships and coaching multiple current NFL players.Anessa Brady, a junior at Weber State, said she’s most excited about the new coach

“100%. I think he’s making a big difference for all of us,” she said.

Additionally, Kalijah Robinson, vice president of the Weber State University Student Association, is liking what he sees five games into the season.

“I see new names. I see explosive plays. I see way more people in the stands,” Robinson said. “It’s going to be a good year.”

Brady and Robinson’s excitement about the new coaching is shared by many. Sophomore Kobe Ho**er is all in on the new playcalling, on both sides of the ball.

“The main thing I’ve noticed is it feels like the playcalling, the defensive calling, special teams, it’s a lot more aggressive.” Ho**er believes this style of play makes the game more engaging to watch and gets the fans more involved. “It gets us fans integrated, like we’re all locked in and we’re excited for these aggressive calls.”

The aggression was on full display. Weber State went for two early fourth down plays on Saturday’s game. Neither of them succeeded, but Ho**er noted that those are the kind of plays that rile up the fans.

Gillian Rupert, a cheerleader in her third year at Weber, also credited the new coaching as a reason this year has been more exciting. She said that this season feels more competitive and has given the fans a reason to be on their feet.

A big part of any collegiate football game is the student section, and at Weber State, that is no different...

Claudia Rice, an event coordinator for Best Friends Animal Society, said the goal of bringing dogs into the green room was to bring awareness to the no-kill movement and increase exposure for senior dogs.

“Just spread the word to help the domino effect of almost getting every hand to help with the no-kill movement,” Rice said.

Best Friends Animal Society is a national animal welfare organization focused on ending the killing of dogs and cats in U.S. shelters.

Rice said the biggest roadblock in the no-kill movement is a lack of education. The two organizations are hoping to provide exposure to the movement at FanX.

The two organizations first teamed up about two years ago. Best Friends Animal Society was looking for more rescues to participate in FanX and reached out to Golden Bark Foundation. Many people enjoyed the calm of the senior dogs and they have been invited back since...

When the Ogden airport was founded in 1928, it started with three gravel runways that eventually became a training ground for new pilots to prepare to join World War II.

It mostly acted as a private airport used for training new pilots from its conception until around 1940 when it was used for mail and passenger flights briefly until demand was deemed too little, and service ceased to continue.

In late 2012, the airport regained public service when Allegiant Air began a service from the airport to Mesa, Arizona. This lasted until 2022 when a pilot shortage and the service no longer continued.

On Nov. 23, 2026, Breeze Airways began its service through ORA to John Wayne/Orange County Airport. This has now restarted the public-facing focus of the airport with a new restaurant to bring people in...

With coaching changes across the two sports, big changes across rosters were expected. Football head coach Eric Kjar and men’s basketball head coach Kaleb Canales knew they couldn’t count on retaining the majority of last year’s teams.

“I think that number’s gonna be much lower this next year,” Kjar said. “I think some of that’s just the natural turnover from hiring a new coach and old program, and a lot of those guys were recruited by different coaches when they came here initially.”

He explained that the evolution of college sports has created challenges. However, he said he appreciates the opportunity to create his own roster.

Football opened their season with three road games. Kjar said he thinks it helped his team grow closer. Together, they traveled for games, stayed in hotels, and played in hostile environments...

Four members of WSU Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) led volunteers through campus in a march toward the Stewart Bell Tower through Shepherd Union, where they headed up the stairs toward our Flaming “W” Rock, then back towards the courtyard below the Bell. Students and participants gathered to view flags from different Hispanic and Latino countries.

Weber’s ROTC members displayed the United States flag, as well as the state of Utah’s flag, with their drill ri**es in hand. Those who participated in displaying their culture also chose to dress in traditional attire, waving flags of a range of countries, including Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Cuba, Guatemala, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Spain, Uruguay, and Venezuela. Flag bearers marched while spectators cheered in support of Weber State University and Hispanic and Latino heritage.
