Venango College Allies Club is sponsoring a Self- Defense Class tonight @ 6:30- 8:00 pm at the GYM in Rhoades Building. It is FREE and open to the community. Learn to defend, protect and empower yourself, to take control of any bad situation. This is priceless knowledge, that could potentially save your own or a loved ones life! Toady, November 4th, in from 11-1 will be Pizza with the President in the Robert W. Rhoades Center. Stop by get some free pizza with your friends, and have the opportunity to talk to President Whitney about the University or other concerns you may have.

This Saturday PTK is having a safety day for the kids at the campus. They will have emergency personnel there along with their vehicles so the kids can meet them see how things work. There will be different booths that the kids can do stuff for anywhere from 50 cents to $5. Following that at 4:30 they are having a spaghetti dinner. Tickets are $7 for students and kids 4 and older. Non students are $10 and kids under 4 eat free.

Further, it seems that the plan was blindly developed by blindly removing costs from an Excel spreadsheet, without considering their consequences to the campus and other departments or programs (e.g., can one have a strong Theatre program without a Music department?).

Our first student senate meeting of the semester is tomorrow, 9/3/13 at 11:00am! We will meet every Tuesday at 11:00am in the Rhoades conference room. Please feel free to stop in and discuss with us anything that you feel should come to our attention. We especially love hearing about the success of our felliw students! We are also seeking 1 senator and 2 new student representatives. Feel free to sit in on our meeting to see if Senate is right for you. Applications are due 9/13/13!

Discovery Weekend turned out very well! All of our students are moved into their apartments with no major problems and everyone had a great time today! Everyone is relaxing now, preparing for the pig roast tomorrow. We hope to see all of our apartment residents tomorrow for great fun, food, and games!!
