Last week, our college celebrated the retirement of Dr. Jane Wilson after more than 30 years of exceptional service to the University of Oklahoma Health Campus, and five transformative years as Dean of OU College of Allied Health.

As the College’s sixth dean, Dr. Wilson led a period of extraordinary growth, innovation, and academic momentum. Her dedication strengthened programs, expanded research and educational capacity, all while investing deeply in people and leadership. Dr. Wilson’s tenure at the University has positively impacted all who have worked with her, as well as the countless students who have learned from her. Her impact will be felt for generations of students, faculty, and communities we serve.

Please join us in thanking Dr. Wilson for her exceptional leadership and welcoming her into this well-earned next chapter. ❤️

OU DPT faculty and students were honored to serve as medical volunteers for the 25th anniversary OKC Memorial Marathon, the Run to Remember 👟❤️

With a record-breaking nearly 30,000 runners and almost 1,500 documented on-course patient contacts, this event was a powerful reminder of resilience, service, and community. 💪

We are grateful to contribute to such a meaningful cause and to support the runners, survivors, families, and volunteers who make this race so special.

🌟 Making an impact on a national stage!

Susan Sisson, Professor in the Department of Nutritional Sciences, took the spotlight earlier this month at the National Child and Adult Care Food Program Annual Conference in Las Vegas! As the only OU representative, she led a powerful workshop on advancing equity in child nutrition.

From Indigenous harvesting traditions to culturally responsive meal planning, attendees walked away with real tools to bring Traditional Indigenous foods and family-centered, inclusive practices into their programs all year long. 🥕🌿

Thank you for sharing your invaluable insight, Professor Sisson!

This April, Professor Ma, associate professor and radiology clinical coordinator, visited radiology departments at OU Health, INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center, and Mercy Hospital to recognize the incredible clinical preceptors who help guide our students every day.

Their commit-MINT, encourage-MINT, and invest-MINT in the next generation of radiologic technologists does not go unnoticed. As a small token of appreciation, each was gifted a treat for their enjoy-MINT 😉

These dedicated professionals give their time, knowledge, and support—often without compensation—to help shape future healthcare providers. Join us in thanking a clinical instructor who has made a difference! ❤️

Our SLP students at Oklahoma Health Campus have been putting their skills into action all across the community this month—and making a real impact along the way.

From providing speech and language screenings for children at Woven Life, to supporting individuals at the Oklahoma City Stuttering Community Day, to volunteering at Camp Sunrise—a weekend camp for individuals living with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)—our students are gaining meaningful, hands-on experience that goes far beyond the classroom.

These opportunities not only strengthen clinical skills, but also build compassion, confidence, and connection with the communities we serve.

If you’re considering a future in Speech-Language Pathology, this is what it looks like: real people, real impact, real growth.
