Business students from around the world come to Meinders with a common goal: to become exceptional leaders in business. To prepare, students compete in local, state, and national competitions, present business and marketing plans, participate in internships, conduct research, and graduate with the knowledge and skills to transition to a successful career. Congratulations to the winning teams at the inaugural Meinders School of Business (MSB) at Oklahoma City University (OCU) Supply Chain Management (SCM) Challenge held last Friday, Oct. 2nd. Teams from across the metro competed in a fast-paced, real-world simulation where you’ll learn what it takes to keep products moving, customers satisfied and businesses running efficiently.

Special thanks to our guest speaker, Gary Mawby, Vice President of Supply Chain for The Bama Companies. Mawby spoke to our students about how SCM works, gave real world examples and explained the various career paths available in supply chain management. With MSB’s newly revamped SCM program launching in 2026, there’s never been a better time to explore one of the fastest-growing and most in-demand fields in business. Plus, OCU offers abundant scholarships for students interested in pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management.

This competition was built around an interactive SCM simulation game where student teams competed in real time, making decisions on sourcing, production, inventory and distribution. As market conditions shift and challenges arise, team had to adapt quickly to outperform the competition.

Real-world competition, fast-paced decision making and serious prizes:
First Place: $2,000 Mustang (OK) Public Schools Team 2
Second Place: $1,000 Mustang Team 1
Third Place: $500 MetroTech Center Team 5

There’s only one way to settle this feud - The Annual MSB Startup Sprint & Business Plan Pitch Competition on Friday, October 23rd. High school students! Round up four of your smartest friends for a shot at cash and scholarships from Oklahoma City University’s Meinders School of Business. Compete with other high school teams from across the state and learn what it takes to develop a winning pitch from MSB.

OCU professors, MSB upperclassmen and business community leaders will serve as mentors helping your student team(s) identify an opportunity by developing a fictitious product, structuring a business model, then delivering the perfect 2-3 minute pitch to a panel of industry experts. Real world collaboration, professional feedback and serious prize money:

$3,000 – First place
$2,000 – Second place
$1,000 – Third place
$500 – Fourth place
