The Miss America competition is underway, and we’re cheering on one of our own!

Evelyn Smith ’23, Miss District of Columbia 2026, will take the Miss America stage this weekend. She’s already making her mark — yesterday, Evelyn was named one of three Rebel Preliminary Fitness Award winners, earning a $3,000 scholarship!

We’re proud to see Evelyn sharing her passion for heart health and CPR education on a national stage. Help us cheer her on as she continues her journey to the crown! ⭐💙

The road to LA28 runs through Oklahoma City — and OCU!

Join us Tuesday, Sept. 22, for the 2026 Martha Jean Lemon Distinguished Speaker Series, highlighting Oklahoma City and OCU’s role in the LA28 Olympic Games.

OKC Mayor and OCU Dean David Holt will lead a panel featuring Michael Byrnes, president of Team OKC; Craig Cress, CEO of USA Softball, Inc.; and Mike Knopp, founder of RIVERSPORT and longtime OCU employee.

Future Stars in the making! ⭐

OCU alumni Sonia Ruiz '24 & '25, Laura Tapia '23, and Andie Taylor '22 & '23 spent the afternoon with students participating in the Emerging Stars Summer Academy (ESSA), sharing their college experiences and advice for the future while answering questions about college life and participating in breakout conversations with students.

ESSA gives high school students a firsthand look at college life through immersive experiences across the OCU campus. Thank you to the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at OCU for allowing us to be a small part of their journey. 💙
