Big moves in cancer research 🔬

NYIT students Soham Raval, Ryan D**g, Winnie Yao, and Ph.D. candidate Zakir Hossain presented their work at the 2026 Sigma Xi Northeast Regional Research Conference.

From exploring cancer-fighting compounds like CBL0137 to identifying genes linked to tumor suppression, their research is helping push forward how we understand—and fight—cancer.

Guided by dedicated faculty mentors, these students are turning classroom knowledge into real-world impact 🧬✨

Because research isn’t just theory—it’s collaboration, discovery, and change.

Big moves in research and patient care 👏

Yllka Valdez (B.A. ’24) is making an impact at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, studying barriers to accessing automated insulin delivery (AID) systems for patients with Type 1 Diabetes.

Her findings? Patients wait nearly 90 days to start treatment—highlighting critical delays in care.

Through her work, Valdez is helping identify solutions to make life-changing technology more accessible, faster.

From NYIT to leading medical research—this is what impact looks like 🔬✨
