Class begins this fall. The syllabus is written. The lecture hall is ready. But one chair remains empty.

It belongs to a student who did everything right—studied hard, earned admission, planned their future—and is now just $500 short of returning.

They didn’t walk away. They were forced to pause because they couldn’t pay.

Every empty chair tells a story:
A student who balanced work and class, who registered for courses, who imagined graduation... then stopped just short.

The gap isn’t academic. It’s financial.

Your gift today puts them one step closer by covering a registration fee, removing a critical hold on their account or even filling the entire gap. And, puts them back in their seat.

To us, these costs may feel like manageable expenses. To them, it’s the final hurdle.

When you give before June 30, you don’t fund a program—you change an outcome. You turn an empty chair into a student taking notes, asking questions, and building a future.

You make sure determination, not dollars, decides who gets to graduate. Time is short. The fiscal year ends soon and with it, this student’s chance to return.

Give now. Fill the chair. Change the story.

Your support and generosity have changed lives. Because of you, SUNY Old Westbury students have persisted, achieved, and prepared to return stronger this fall.

We have an opportunity to do even more.

This fiscal year, our goal is bold, but essential – to double the number of students we support with scholarships.

As we prepare to welcome our students back this fall, many are still working to overcome financial challenges that could stand in the way of their return.

With your help, we can ensure that more students come back and continue forward with confidence. But, we must act now!

Our fiscal year ends on June 30, and every gift before that date will directly help us reach more students in time for the upcoming semester.

This is a moment of momentum and possibility.

With your gift today, you will:
1. Expand scholarship support to reach twice as many returning students
2. Remove financial barriers at a critical moment
3. Help students continue their education without interruption

Together, we can build on this year’s success and create even greater opportunity in the year ahead. Please visit the SUNY Old Westbury website to join us in this impactful effort for returning SUNY Old Westbury students: https://www.oldwestbury.edu/owcf-2026-year-end-campaign-a
