Message from the University Board:

Dear Members of the Olivet Community,
Serving on The University of Olivet Board of Trustees is a meaningful responsibility. Our trustees bring perspectives, experience, and commitment to helping the University move forward. We are grateful to our alumni and friends who take on this responsibility, including those whose service comes to an end.
At our October meeting, several trustees completed their terms and rotated off the Board. Two others, Margaret Dimond, who served as chair, and Sarah Jennings, our treasurer, also stepped down from their roles. We recognize and value their service and wish them well. Under our bylaws, I am serving as chair, and the Board will follow its existing process to fill leadership positions in the weeks ahead.
The Board remains firmly committed to the direction outlined in our Olivet 2030 strategic plan. We also completed our annual evaluation of the president at the October meeting. I fully support and have complete confidence in President Corey and his leadership, and in the work underway to build a stronger, more prosperous future for the University.
Higher education continues to face challenges, and colleges and universities like Olivet are not immune. Our strategic plan provides clear direction: to build a quality, relationship-based university with a more prosperous future. We are making real progress toward it. For example, online enrollment has more than doubled, and we have moved from investment-oriented deficit spending to a balanced budget. These are two important steps, though we know we have more to do.
Future progress will require continued collaboration from trustees, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends. Our shared commitment to The University of Olivet and its mission will help us build a stronger university.
If you have questions or ideas, I encourage you to reach out directly at [email protected]. We value the perspective of those who care about Olivet and welcome the opportunity to hear from you.

With gratitude,
John Jones, Jr ‘76
Vice Chair, serving as Chair
The University of Olivet Board of Trustees
