Clinical Skills and Advocacy in Action 🏥🏛️

Our February 2026 Onsite Intensive was a true reflection of the CSM DPT mission! Our students and faculty didn't just have class—they took their expertise into the community and to the steps of the Nebraska State Capitol.

Here’s how we spent some of our week:
On-Campus Impact: We provided physical therapy screens for the CSM community, helping people move better and stay healthy.

At the State House: Our 2nd year cohort traveled to Lincoln for Legislative Day with ! 📝

Advocating for Access: We met with senators to discuss LB 1012, a bill designed to ensure physical therapists are treated fairly in medical lien statutes—keeping care accessible for Nebraskans after an injury.

Protecting the Future: We spoke out against federal proposals to reclassify the DPT degree, potentially limiting student loan access and impacting the future PT workforce in rural Nebraska.

It has been a year of "firsts" and "forever memories":

Welcoming New Faces: We officially kicked off the journey for the Class of 2027!

Celebrating Success: We cheered on the Class of 2025 as they graduated and are ready to transform the healthcare landscape.

Hands-On Excellence: Our learners completed 6 successful onsite lab intensives. From anatomy and neuroscience to complex clinical decision-making and NPTE preparation, our students have been sharpening their skills to provide the highest level of care.

The Class of 2025 leaves these wise words of wisdom after finishing their clinical rotations: "Clinical rotations are your time to grow, stay curious, ask questions, and take initiative. Show up prepared, work hard, and learn all you can!"

🎥✨ Summer at CSM’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program was nothing short of extraordinary!

From first-year students diving into anatomy and pathophysiology during our onsite lab intensive (with a little Phyzio Trivia fun 🧠🎉), to second-years mastering cardiopulmonary, MSK, neuro, and integumentary systems while treating patients at the Stephen Center and Intercultural Senior Center in Omaha, NE.
