School of Health & Kinesiology professor, Dr. Ayo Olagoke, is the lead author of a newly accepted paper in the Journal of Disaster Medicine and Public Health Preparedness by Cambridge University Press. The article, The Content of COVID-19 Information Searches and Vaccination Intent: An Implication for Risk Communication, showed that the individuals who searched for COVID-19 information on policies/procedures to follow and the effects of the virus on the body had higher intentions to get the COVID-19 vaccine. The article recommends that communication efforts aimed at increasing COVID-19 scientific literacy and clarifying policy procedures can persuade people to get vaccinated.
