At this year’s Engineering Showcase, students presented a variety of projects that demonstrated their ability to apply interdisciplinary topics, such as regenerative medicine, to engineering ⚙️

This year, Sebastian Herrera Vargas (Applied Human Physiology ‘26) and Neera Gajendran (Biochemistry ‘26) took first place with their project, “Biometric Approaches for Next-Generation Biomaterials” 🔬

The duo’s project stems from a research initiative in which their group introduced a novel approach to biomedical healing and tissue regeneration. Their research project, advised by Fowler Engineering faculty member Dr. Andrew Lyon, aims to address longstanding challenges in injury recovery.

Meet Brandon Fabré, a Data Analytics ‘20 alumnus who now works as a Technical Program Manager at Google! Fabré visited alongside other Panther alumni who have landed roles at Google, for a career panel event hosted by !

Fabré shared his insight on maximizing the experience, such as joining student organizations, to develop the soft skills essential for technical roles.

Meet Sam Potozkin, a third-year Communications student who spent hours in and out of the DCI Lab to create an interactive C-3PO head!

As a non-engineering student, Sam developed skills in coding, soldering, fabrication, and design through his time in the DCI Lab and with two programming courses. Sam was driven by curiosity and his love for the Star Wars fandom to complete this innovative project! ⚙️

“Hi! I’m Kalin Richardson, a senior software engineering student currently in the integrated master’s program. As a full-time student, I work part-time at . Follow along during my typical day working at my part-time job, being a student employee in the DCI Lab, and attending classes!

As a proud student nearing graduation, I have been reflecting on all that Chapman has offered me. It’s an incredible list of experiences and opportunities that I can hardly express my gratitude for. I am beyond thankful for everything, and I am excited to continue my education by pursuing my master’s degree here.
