Thank you to everyone who joined us for "Relational Fractals: Patterns of Life and Belonging Across Time", an inspiring conversation at the intersection of art, science, and planetary health, Dr. Susan Prescott and Taisha Carrington, explored how human health, environmental change, and interconnected systems influence one another and the power of bringing art and science together to better understand our world.

The event was hosted by the YSN Office of Planetary Health & Global Engagement and the Yale Peabody Museum and moderated by YSN Assistant Professor Ami Marshall.

Happy Midwifery Week!

In our simulation labs, midwifery students are gaining hands-on experience with first-stage labor skills, such as providing labor support and assessing dilation. These immersive learning experiences help prepare future nurse-midwives to support families through some of life's most important moments.

A full-circle moment, 26 years in the making.

When Kayla Siegel ’26 MSN graduated from Yale School of Nursing, one of the people celebrating with her was Jessica Goldman ’99 MSN, the midwife who delivered her.

Inspired by the stories her parents shared about Jess's care and dedication, Kayla first explored midwifery as a teenager. Years later, after being accepted to YSN, she reconnected with Jess, who became her preceptor and mentor.

Their story is a powerful reminder that compassion, mentorship, and exceptional care can leave a lasting impact for generations.

Nurses making an impact in our local community.

As part of Yale School of Nursing's Art of Caring: Connecting Through Service orientation activities, new students and orientation leaders came together to make a difference across Connecticut. Together, they sorted more than 9,000 pounds of food, volunteered at The Diaper Bank of Connecticut, learned about the important work of the HAVEN Free Clinic and Yale Neighborhood Health Project, and created blankets for donation through Binky Patrol.

From supporting local families to addressing community health needs, these experiences reflect the spirit of service that is at the heart of nursing.
