Nowhere is this more evident than through programs such as our Screen Acting degree in partnership with Dodge College of Film and Media Arts, the first of its kind in the country; our exciting partnership with Cirque du Soleil for technical theatre; and our new Master of Music program in Keyboard Collaborative Arts. Our faculty represent a group of consummate professionals, connected to numerous industry organizations within the arts. These people, accomplished artists in their own right, are dedicated to helping students reach their dreams and aspirations, whether they are pianists, dancers, stage or screen actors, composers, opera singers or students of any one of the numerous programs the college offers.

Congratulations to our Theatre Department on the successful closing of our first production of the season! As You Like It was an exciting adaptation of Shakespeare’s classic comedy, featuring dancing, wrestling, cheer, and plenty of music.

This opportunity gives students firsthand experience of what a vocal program audition looks like and provides them with the tools they need to feel ready!⁠

Students get the opportunity to attend a masterclass with a tenor , experience a collegiate choral rehearsal, workshop personal audition material with Chapman voice faculty, tour our world-class performance venue on campus, the , and attend the opening night of Opera Chapman's fall production (tickets on us)! ⁠

Applications are NOW OPEN for the 61st Annual Chapman Invitational Choir Festivals! Join us at Chapman University on March 17–18, 2027, for an inspiring celebration of choral music, featuring the opportunity to perform in the magnificent Musco Center for the Arts!

We’re also excited to welcome our guest adjudicator, Dr. Jonathan Talberg, Director of Choral Activities at Cal State Long Beach’s Bob Cole Conservatory of Music, internationally acclaimed conductor, and proud Chapman alumnus!

📅 Application Deadline: October 31, 2026
Directors may apply with up to two ensembles.

We had such a fantastic Homecoming Weekend 2026!

It was so wonderful to welcome CoPA students and their families back to campus for fun campus activities and celebrations. CoPA made the weekend extra special with an incredible masterclass, “Hello!” and “Welcome!”: The Opening Number in Musicals, led by our very own Dr. Jessica Sternfeld, chair of the Music Department.

From Cabaret to Hamilton, the masterclass explored what makes the opening moments of a musical so powerful and exciting, and we learned so much along the way!

Thank you to all of our CoPA families for making Homecoming Weekend so memorable. We loved having you here! 🥰
