Beta Zeta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated is South Carolina’s first and oldest chapter of any Greek-letter sorority established by and open to African-American women. What began in 1934 with just five women in Orangeburg, South Carolina has been perpetuated by countless others over 80 years. Its membership of over 250 professional women are bonded by vows of sisterhood, a

Something exciting is coming this fall! 👀

SC State Public Service & Agriculture’s Community and Economic Development program is preparing to launch its Fall 2026 Nonprofit Micro-Certificate, a seven-week hybrid program designed to help startups and nonprofits strengthen operations, leadership and sustainability.

Participants will receive tools in nonprofit formation and compliance, board governance, financial management, strategic planning, grant writing, proposal budgeting and artificial intelligence tools for nonprofit productivity. 📊

The program will run from September to October 2026, with virtual and in-person options available.

Beta Zeta Omega held our 2026 Chapter Retreat, “Reflecting on Our Flight, Preparing for New Destinations.” Our members enjoyed an informative, fun, and sisterly time as we reflected on our past accomplishments of the “Soaring” administration and began the work of our new program targets for 2026-2030.

We began our new destination to “Championing Service. Empowering Sisterhood. Transforming the World.” Thank you to the Chapter Retreat Planning Committee, our guest presenters, workshop presenters and our Committee Chairmen who led their committee meetings at the retreat.
