Some Dominican University biology students participated in intensive research projects this summer, thanks to a $25,000 grant from the Glenn W. Bailey Foundation. The research projects will contribute to the fields of molecular biology and biochemistry, and have implications for the scientific study of immunology and genetics. The funding supported four students this summer, and an additional 11 students who worked on the initial stages of the research. Biology professors Dr. Elena Guevara and Dr. Richard Flamio head up the STEM Scholars Program, which makes the students competitive for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals and may assist them in admission to graduate school.

Our freshmen had a busy orientation on Saturday, making new friends, getting settled in, learning a lot about Dominican University, and meeting their Peer Mentors & Academic Advisors. A big shout out 📣 to our student Peer Mentors who have been training hard all week and are looking forward to working with the new students in Freshman Seminar. 🙌

Just one week till Freshman Move-In Day! 🗓️ Our residence halls have fresh paint and have been spruced up for the new school year. Our Resident Assistants arrived last week for training and are decorating the hallway bulletin boards and putting names on the rooms. We are so excited to welcome the Class of 2030!! 🙌🙌
