From building supply chains to managing a sales pipeline, Izatt Folkman, MBA ’24, is putting his UVU education to work.

Shortly after graduating in summer 2024, Izatt joined Montane Packaging, a packaging automation company in American Fork, Utah, to manage its supply chain. He recently transitioned to managing the company’s sales pipeline, bringing his business and leadership skills to a new role.

Izatt credits the UVU MBA program with helping him learn how to build a strong supply chain and lead people in ways that help them succeed. Just as meaningful were the relationships he formed along the way.

During the program, Izatt met fellow alumnus Christopher Ruddy, who became one of his best friends and a collaborator on several consulting projects. Connections that began at MBA orientation grew into lasting friendships and mentorships.

His advice to current and future MBA students is simple: “Talk to as many people as possible.”

For Izatt, getting to know people and asking questions helped open doors; and those relationships continue to shape his journey.

🌟Alumni Spotlight | Chante' Hammond🌟
For Chanté Hammond, earning an MBA from Utah Valley University was more than an academic achievement; it was an investment in new possibilities.

While working for the State of Utah, Chanté saw limited opportunities for advancement and recognized that furthering her education could help her take the next step. The UVU MBA program gave her a way to distinguish herself professionally and prepare for leadership roles.

Since earning her MBA, Chanté has worked for two Fortune 500 companies, opportunities she believes would not have been available to her without her graduate degree. In October 2025, she began a new chapter as Accounting Manager at Goldback, Inc., where she continues to apply the knowledge, perspective, and leadership skills she developed through the program.

Her advice to current MBA students and fellow graduates is to keep the long-term value of the experience in mind:

“Stay focused on the fact that the time and money you are spending on your MBA now is a payment that will compound into a greater future reward, financially and professionally.”

Chanté’s journey demonstrates how education can expand career opportunities and help ambitious professionals move confidently into leadership. We’re proud to recognize her accomplishments and celebrate the impact of a UVU MBA.

A proud moment, with a lot of time and work in the making.

Last Friday, we celebrated our newest Master of Science in Finance and Master of Business Administration graduates at the Fall Hooding Ceremony. Surrounded by family, friends, faculty, and fellow graduates, they marked the close of one chapter and the beginning of an exciting new one.

Congratulations to our MSF and MBA graduates! We’re proud of all you’ve accomplished.

UVU MBA students have returned from an incredible international experience in Turkey as part of the MBA Healthcare Leadership emphasis.

During the trip, students explored the intersection of healthcare, leadership, and global business through visits with healthcare organizations, industry professionals, and cultural landmarks. They gained valuable insights into how healthcare systems operate in a global context while developing the leadership skills needed to navigate an increasingly interconnected world.

Experiences like these bring learning beyond the classroom, giving students the opportunity to see healthcare leadership in action, engage with international perspectives, and build the global mindset today’s healthcare leaders need.

There’s something special about reconnecting with people who share a common experience.

This weekend, MBA students, alumni, faculty, and families gathered for the MBASA Potluck, a chance to catch up, make new connections, and celebrate the community that continues long after graduation.

From great conversations and cotton candy to homemade desserts, the event was a reminder that the UVU MBA experience is about more than coursework. It’s about building relationships that support and inspire one another throughout our careers.

A special shoutout to one alumnus who brought a homemade pie featuring the UVU logo baked right into the crust, easily one of the highlights of the day.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the event such a success. We love seeing our MBA community continue to grow and stay connected.
