This project helped strengthened essential career readiness skills, including presentation development, public speaking, technology, and professionalism.

Students also demonstrated the importance of peer encouragement and support by offering and accepting constructive feedback and celebrating one another's accomplishments.

💵 Budgeting Skills Put to the Test! 💻🔐

Personal Leadership students wrapped up their budgeting unit with an interactive Virtual Budget Escape Room!
Students put their financial literacy skills to the test by solving challenges and applying what they learned about budgeting, saving, and spending wisely.

This activity encouraged teamwork, communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving as students worked together toward a goal.

Learning life skills can be fun, especially when we work together! 💛🖤

Fresh food, new skills, and a delicious meal! 🌮🥑

Today, the 4 Roots Mobile Kitchen and Farmers Market visited Inclusive Education Services to teach students how to prepare healthy meals with a balance of protein, fruits, vegetables, and grains. We made tofu tacos, pico de gallo, and guacamole—and enjoyed every bite! Yum!
Afterward, students shopped for fresh produce and filled their bags with healthy options to take back to their dorms, ready to try new recipes and put their cooking skills into practice.
A huge thank you to 4 Roots and UCF Kinesiology for sharing your time and expertise and helping our students build healthy habits and confidence in the kitchen. We look forward to your next visit! 💛🖤

“Great things happen when we work together, support one another, and share a common goal.”

Today, our Career Planning 1 students were challenged to work in groups to build the tallest freestanding structure using minimal materials.
Throughout the activity, there was excellent communication, problem-solving, encouragement, and collaboration.

When we work toward a shared goal, we learn to appreciate our teammates’ differences and recognize the unique strengths each person brings to the team.

We are definitely stronger together!
