UCF Caregiver Support Group

UCF Caregiver Support Group Caregiver Support Group for people caring for individuals with dementia or similar cognitive impairm Groups typically include between 4 and 12 caregivers.

The UCF Caregiver Support Group employs empirically-based practice, as the intervention incorporates modules that have been shown to be effective in past research. We strive to provide caregivers with skills that will reduce caregiver burden, improve caregiver preparedness, and help manage loved ones' dementia-related symptoms in the home environment. Given that our intervention only involves 6-we

eks of participation, we aim to maximize group member benefit while still being mindful of caregivers' busy schedules. The UCF Caregiver Support Group is coordinated by Daniel Paulson, Ph.D, and his graduate students in the Orlando Later-Life Developmental Research (OLDeR) Lab. Our caregiver support groups meet for 90 minutes per week for 6 weeks. New groups start frequently! Please call us at (407) 823-4135 or email us at [email protected] for more information.
