Faculty Spotlight: Angel 👨‍🏭🔥

For Angel, welding has never just been about joining pieces of metal together — it’s about seeing possibility in something that looks impossible to shape.

Before becoming an instructor, Angel spent years working hands-on with metal, including work for the City of Kissimmee. Now, after 8 years of teaching and 3 years with STC Orlando, he brings that same real-world experience into the welding shop every day.

He describes welding as an art: a process of understanding the material, working with it, and learning how to manipulate metal into something completely new.

That mindset is what he hopes to pass on to his students — not just how to weld, but how to think creatively, trust the process, and take pride in what they create.

Meet Kamilla — one of our standout Welding students at STC Orlando. 🔥👩‍🏭

Now over one year into the program, Kamilla says one of her favorite parts of welding is getting to be creative while building real, hands-on skills. She also loves being a woman in a traditionally male-dominated field and showing that there’s plenty of room for women in the trades.

We’re proud to have students like Kamilla bringing confidence, creativity, and determination to class everyday.🤲

During his visit to STC Orlando, Florida Lt. Gov. Jay Collins shared an important perspective: the future of healthcare isn’t only about treating illness — it’s also about preventing it.
