Over the past three weeks, had the pleasure of hosting 16 faculty and staff members from UniversidadSimónBolívar in Barranquilla and Cúcuta, Colombia, for an unforgettable English Immersion Program.
These outstanding educators and professionals came to UCF not only to strengthen their English language skills, but also to experience American culture, expand their professional knowledge, and build meaningful international connections. Throughout the program, they developed their Academic Writing skills with Dr. Marcio and strengthened their Speech and Presentation skills with Jorri Bright, giving them valuable tools they can take back to their classrooms and careers.
One of the highlights of the program was the opportunity for our Unisimón participants to regularly interact with the Fulbright Pre- Academic Program participants. These conversations created authentic opportunities to practice English while also sharing cultures, perspectives, and experiences from around the world. It was incredible to watch friendships form across countries and continents.
We were also honored by a special visit from the President of Universidad Simón Bolívar, Dr. Consuegra. His visit reflected the strength of the partnership between our two institutions and our shared commitment to international education and collaboration.
Our hope is that UCF Global and Universidad Simón Bolívar continue to strengthen this wonderful partnership for many years to come. Although they arrived as strangers, they left as family, and we cannot wait to welcome them back to campus again.
