Pegasus PlayLab 2026 opens tonight with Drew Paryzer’s OFFSHOOT!

Performed May 29 & 30, OFFSHOOT explores what human-to-human connection might look like in a near-future world that’s saturated with AI relationships. Through the lens of a teacher striving to connect with a pupil in an offline classroom, Paryzer’s play invites audiences to see what happens when people dare to be inconvenient to one another.

Meet ✨Ebenezer Nketsiah Mensah, a finalist in ✨Pathways 2026: The Carlos Malamud Prize.

A multidisciplinary artist whose work is shaped by his experience as a former gold miner and construction worker in Ghana, Mensah explores labor, migration, and identity through sculpture and installation. His practice reflects on the physical and emotional realities of work, while honoring the resilience of the communities connected to it.

Using found and industrial materials, Mensah transforms personal and collective histories into powerful visual narratives rooted in memory, survival, and belonging.

“My work is deeply informed by lived experience, using material and process to speak to labor, movement, and the human condition.”
