Our welding students created a beautiful tribute to the United States as part of the statewide Welding and Fabrication Challenge, sponsored by the Florida Department of Education.

“The Stars, Stripes, & Steel: An American Mosaic,” their finished product, shows a space shuttle over Florida, representing boundless ambition; the Empire State Building over New York symbolizing vision and endurance; a motorcycle in California promoting ingenuity and performance; a barbecue grill in Texas reflecting celebration, joy and unity; and an American Eagle in the Pacific Northwest, soaring as a beacon of freedom.

Electrical Powerline Technician graduate, Garrett Accomando has been with OUC for more than four years and earned first-place honors in categories like Apprentice Overall and Apprentice Large Utility at the American Public Power Association Lineworkers Rodeo.

We're looking back at the incredible opportunity the Residential/Commercial Plumbing Technician program had to join the Lowe's Foundation in the Bunk Bed Build event in collaboration with Sleep in Heavenly Peace, whose mission is to help children in need sleep better by building, assembling and delivering bunk beds.

Not only do Valencia's partnerships, like with Lowe's, offer opportunities to launch, and improve programs, but they offer unique opportunities for students to demonstrate their skills while helping the greater good.

There are THREE upcoming Welding Technology program start dates in June... wait, no, that's not quite right. Oh, we know now, there are three upcoming Welding Technology with ORBITAL SPECIALIZATION program start dates coming in June, a crucial style of welding for space travel and Florida's Space Coast.

The welding program we all know and love is adding orbital specialization where students will experience hands-on training in the in-demand automated form (which needs plenty of human oversight to setup, calibrate and more) of welding that increases accuracy and weld integrity.

It’s not only what you learn in a program that puts you in a position to make a difference in your industry, it’s the community you build like these Clinical Medical Assistant + EKG graduates and their instructor.

It helps students understand how to succeed in their careers, and that they always have support on their journeys!

We still have commencement excitement around here! Two Clinical Medical Assistant + EKG graduates expressed their elation, and what it meant having their instructor there to share in their joy.

Sharyham Gomez has her sights set on a political science degree followed by law school, but is excited to work as a clinical medical assistant, as well. Meanwhile, Hayam Benyahya is also graduating from UCF with a degree in biomedical sciences before heading to med school with the goal of becoming a neurosurgeon.

We are proud of these two!

We were honored to host leaders from across Osceola County through The Osceola Chamber Leadership Osceola program at Valencia College’s Osceola Campus.

Professionals representing healthcare, IT, energy, education, and financial industries toured our Advanced Manufacturing labs within the Accelerated Skills Training department, along with our Engineering labs, to see firsthand how Valencia is preparing the next generation of skilled technicians and engineers. ⚙️🔧📚
