Twenty-one music educators from Maine and Massachusetts completed Orff Level 1 and Level 3 Teacher Education courses from Aug. 3-14 in the School of Performing Arts at UMaine. Special recognition goes to the five music educators who passed Level 3 and are now Orff certified; the first Level 3 cohort ever in the state of Maine! The course director was Dr. Laura Artesani, music faculty member. The instructors were Karen Medley from Massachusetts, Shelly Smith from Nebraska, and Dan Johnson from North Carolina.

OPENING NIGHT!!!

Join the Maine Masque as they open the final production of the School of Performing Arts 2025/26 theatrical season with "The Glass Menagerie" by Tennessee Williams.

This interpretation of a classic work of the American theatrical canon comes from an entirely student-led team, both onstage and off.

The show opens tonight and runs through April 12. Tickets are $15, with free admission with a student MaineCard.
