🎶 “Fill the steins to dear old Maine…” 💙🐻

On this day in 1975, Rudy Vallée returned to the University of Maine for his 50th class reunion, celebrating the alumnus who helped bring the beloved Maine Stein Song to national fame.

First recorded by the University of Maine band in 1930, the Stein Song became a national hit and remains one of the most iconic traditions in Black Bear history.
Nearly a century later, the song still brings generations of Black Bears together.
Once a Black Bear, always a Black Bear!

October 11th is celebrated as Rudy Vallee Day each year. Happy Rudy Vallée Day!🩵

Senior Alumni Reunion Week was one to remember! 💙

From tours of campus and trips down memory lane to great laughs and time spent reconnecting with old friends, the week was filled with special moments.

It was wonderful to welcome some of our Alumni back to Orono to celebrate lifelong friendships, cherished memories, and the place that brought so many of them together.

A special shoutout to the Class of 1976 as they celebrated their milestone 50th Reunion! 🎉

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the week so special. Once a Black Bear, always a Black Bear! 🐻

Since 1962, Bodwell Chrysler Jeep DodgeRam in Brunswick has generously supported the UMaine Alumni Association by providing a complimentary vehicle for our use to travel for alumni events and activities. The Bodwell family includes three generations of Black Bears. This week, they continued the tradition by trading us into a new UMaine Alumni vehicle. Please join us in thanking the Bodwell family for their amazing 65 years of continued support to our Black Bear alumni community!
