On Friday, the Butte College Foundation awarded 300 scholarships totaling more than $230,000 at our annual Scholarship Awards Brunch. The event recognized both student achievement and the generosity of donors who make these awards possible.

In addition to Friday's scholarships, the Foundation awards nearly $30,000 in off-cycle scholarships throughout the year, impacting the lives of hundreds of students annually.

Originally from Oroville, Magen Miranda came to Butte College with a simple goal: to rebuild her future through education. After years of struggling with addiction, homelessness, and instability, she made the decision to pursue sobriety and enroll in classes at the Chico Center in fall 2023. Staff members connected her with resources through the Roadrunner Hub, where she received help accessing food assistance and transitional housing.
