Since 1871, UWO has been a leader in education. SOEHS prepares the next generation of professional leaders in education, human services and counseling.

This year, we mark the 140th anniversary of the UW Oshkosh College of Education and Human Services (COEHS)! Throughout our history, there have been many changes – from college name and logo changes to new and improved methods of teacher education. However, our goal has always been the same: to educate the people who will set the pace for teaching, education reform and social change in an increasingly diverse environment.

Last week, some of our SOEHS students volunteered at Read Elementary to help bring a special mural to life! 💙

The mural celebrates representation, community, and belonging. Our students helped to create a space where children can see themselves reflected and reminded that they belong.

We love seeing our students take their creativity beyond the classroom and make a meaningful impact in their communities! 🫶

Meet Aya Koji, a future counselor who believes everyone has a story, and everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, and loved.

Inspired by the stories and experiences of those around her, she hopes to meet every person with empathy, respect, and kindness.

“Everyone comes from different walks of life… You’ll never know who needs that small act of kindness in their lives.

We’re inspired by her commitment to understanding others and helping people feel truly seen. 🌟
