UW Oshkosh Mathematics Department The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Mathematics Department has 23 faculty at two campuses.

We offer a Math Major with no emphasis, statistics emphasis, or education emphasis, as well as several math minors.

On May 7, 2025, we celebrated Math Student Appreciation Day. The Senior Math Award winners for 2025 are Gretchen Rost and Noah Levin. Congratulations to our student award winners! And congratulations to our faculty who are retiring this year, Dr. Steve Winters and Dr. Mike Bartlett.

More than 1,000 students from area middle schools and high schools descended on UW-Oshkosh April 10 for the 7th annual UW-Oshkosh Mathematical Problem Solving Contest. Students also had the opportunity to attend interactive sessions to experience college life.

Congratulations to faculty member Amy Parrott!! Amy co-presented the symposium “Supporting Preservice Secondary Teachers' Understanding of the Importance of Defining and Definitions” at the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators Conference in Reno, NV on February 6 along with Michelle Cirillo (U. Delaware), Amanda Seiwell (U. Delaware), Steven Boyce (Portland State), and Nat Miller (U. Northern Colorado).

Congratulations to faculty member Ziyuan Wang for his recent paper at the Eighth International Econometric Conference of Vietnam. Dr. Wang's paper "Extending a priori procedure for simultaneously estimating location and scale parameters in the context of skew normal distributions," will be published in the Springer Volume, Series: STUDIES IN SYSTEMS, DECISION AND CONTROL this summer.
